Ghodepani
Ghodepani, a picturesque hamlet, once served as a vital stopover for travelers en route to Mustang. Nestled at an altitude of 2874 meters, this charming village beckons adventurers with its rich history and breathtaking scenery. The name “Ghodepani” itself evokes the past, as legend has it that horses were quenched here, giving rise to its name, which literally translates to “horse water.”
The highlight of a Ghodepani visit is undoubtedly the short yet rewarding hike to Poon Hill. Just a 30-minute ascent from the village, this vantage point unfolds a majestic panorama of some of the world’s tallest mountains. Among these towering peaks, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of the Annapurna range, the graceful Nilgiri, the formidable Dhaulagiri, the iconic Machapuchare, the alluring Dhampus peak, and the majestic Hinchuli, to name a few.
